More Seniors 2010
Spent last weekend with one of Madison County's most recognized football players. We had a great time taking photos at Graves Mountain, in downtown Madison, and over at the football field. This image is one of my favorites from the day.

Mr. C - 4 months
Mr. C is another regular. He looks quite a bit different from the first time he was featured here at Chris Earle Photography. I look forward to photographing him over the next few years as he transitions from baby to toddler to preschooler.

Greene County All-Stars
Today, I had the opportunity to photograph the Greene County All-Stars baseball team and their victory over Rockville for the District Championship. It was a great game that included a 6th inning comeback by Rockville and some clutch hitting by Greene to win the game. I hope you enjoy some of the photos from the game. Click on the slide show and you can catch all the action, including the final hit and play at the plate.

Kimberly and George - the wedding
You may remember Kimberly and George from their engagement photo I posted a few weeks back. As you can see, the wedding happened and it was a great ceremony and reception. I had a great time sharing the day with the couple and their guests. I'll continue to share some of the 340+ photos from that day over the next couple of weeks. Be sure to drop a comment and wish them a lifetime of happiness.

Kimberly and George
This is Kimberly and George. I have the honor of being their wedding photographer on May 30th. Last night we had our pre-wedding consultation to get to know each other and take care of any last minute details. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to share their day with them - I think it is going to be a fun group to work with.

Trying to break the 4 minute mile
Three runners from the University of Virginia Men's Track Team attempted to break the coveted 4 minute mile last evening at Lannigan Field. Here a few photos from the event.
The Rabbits set the early pace in attempt to help three UVA runners break 4 minutes in the mile.
Stride for stride in the first turn, the rabbits help break the wind for the eventual leaders.
Just past the 800m mark, Emil Heineking, Virginia, lane 2, starts to make his move on the pace setting rabbit.
With 1200m complete, Heineking is followed by fellow Virginia runners Andrew Jesien and Sintayehu Taye. You can see from Heineking's expression that the last lap is going to be a tough one. With 300m to go, Heineking takes one last peek at the clock.
On the final lap, University of Virginia senior Andrew Jesien took the lead and finished in a remarkable 4:02:18, just two seconds shy of his desired time.

Natue Photography - Racoon
Raccoon in Ding Darling State Park, Florida
Usually when you think of Ding Darling State Park on Sanibel Island in Florida, you think of shore birds. While driving the loop, the kids, who couldn't have cared less about the birds, were very excited to see this little guy walk out of the mangroves and come up within a few yards of the car.

Concert Photography
Mac Powell - Third Day at the Pavillion, Charlottesville VA
I was blessed to have a front stage pass for this concert a couple years ago - it was a lot of fun and I got some great shots. What most people probably don't realize is that photographers are only allowed to photograph for the first three songs and can't use any flash - you are totally at the mercy of the stage lights. But with some patience, and good technique, you can make some really cool shots.

Serendipity
One day last October, about a week before the general election, I was meeting a client on the lawn at the University of Virginia. As I walked in from the side opposite the Rotunda, I noticed a small gathering of people and I took the long way around to see what was going on. To my surprise, former Governor, Mark Warner, was giving a campaign speech. Since I was a few minutes early, I pulled out my camera and took a few shots. Sometimes you just get lucky. Warner went on to beat Jim Gilmore in the election and is now serving as Virginia's junior senator.
